FOR MYOPIA GROWTH PHASE
ESENCIA® should be used by children whose myopia is still on its growth phase. In other words, these are users whose myopic graduation grows every year.
In common terms myopia is stablished in Young ages (6-8 years old) and it keeps growing until teenage although slower growth patterns can eventually be found.
Taking all this into account, ESENCIA® should be used in kidsover 5 or 6 years oldand untiltheir myopia stops growing.
WHICH ARE ITS MAIN CHARACTERISTICS ?

- ESENCIA® is a contact len of daily use, the customer wears it in the morning/afternoon and takes it off in the evening after 8/10 hours of usage
- The replacement must be quarterly, this means each contact lens must be replaced every 90 days.
- After beigng taken off, ESENCIA® sencia must be kept with Aquamax unique solution or Veodisinfection sistema with peroxid. The optometrist may recommend the mainteinence sistema depending on the necessities.
- ESENCIA ® is a customized contact lens on every parameterin order to optimize the patient’s visual confort.

ESENCIA® is the result is an avant-grade design realized with two main purposes; fristly reducind or erasing the visual factors which encourage myopic progression thanks to the preiferical ring of the len, and so, controlling myopia’s progression, on the other hand, to make up for the customer’s myopia with the central zone of the len so as to allow they to sharply see at any distance.
In this way, with ESENCIA®, on the one hand the myopia is balanced out, as with any other contact lenses or glasses, allowing its user to realize their daily activities with normality, on the other hand, ESENCIA® slows down the progression of the myopia
ESENCIA®, CUSTOMIZATION AND PARAMETERS
A FULLY CUSTOMIZED CONTACT LENS.
ESENCIA®presents the advantage of being a customized lens. This meaning that each lens is produced with customized parameters whitch are able to adapt the the anatomy of the ocular roundabouts of its user.
The parts customized are the radium and the diameter appart, obviously, from the necessary strength to balance myopia and astigmatismo ut. The strenght range ESENCIA® offers is capable of compensating either myopia(esencia) and myopia with astigmatism (ESENCIA® Toric).
TECHNIC SPECIFICATIONS:
- Strenght to compensate myopia: 0 a -20,00D
- Strenght to compensate astigmatism: 0,25 a -6,00D
- Axis of astigmatism: 0 a 180º step of 5º
Together, ESENCIA® offers the confidence of knowing that whatever your son or daughter’s needs may be, ESENCIA® will offer a set of parameters for a safe and comfortable fit.
In situations of extreme pupillary diameters, ESENCIA® can be customized in its optical zones, with the aim of achieving a better visual adjustment of the lens to the user.

To date, the soft contact lenses indicated in the control of myopia progression only allow compensating myopia, leaving a large group of users, those who have myopia with astigmatism, without the possibility of benefiting from current advances in the control of the progression of myopia.
TIEDRA maintains its own lines of research and development in strategies that allow the control of the progression of myopia.. As a result of this activity, we have developedESENCIA® Toric, the customized soft contact lensfor the control of myopia progression in kids who havemyopia with astigmatism. In this way, users with astigmatism can also benefit from myopia control and an adequate quality of vision. miopía con astigmatismo.
ESENCIA® is already available, with the following refractive compensation parameters:
Spheres: From 0 to -20.00 D, steps 0.25 D
Cylinders: -0.25 to -6.00, 0.25 D steps
Axes: From 5º to 180º, steps of 5º
All in all, ESENCIA® offers an extraordinary range of parameters which ensure the best out of all the posible adaptations of the len, thus guaranteing a succesfull adaptation in most cases.
ESENCIA® allows users with astigmatism to control the progression of myopia, allowing these users to benefit from existing strategies to control the progression of myopia, and therefore protect the health of their vision in the future.

The efficacy and safety of ESENCIA® in the control of myopia progression have been clinically evaluated and validated through various clinical studies, prospective randomized crossover, prospective randomized double-blind, and retrospective parallel and crossover, in pediatric and adolescent users. As a whole, ESENCIA® has demonstrated in these studies its ability to control the progression of myopia in a safe way, not only in the safety aspects of wearing contact lenses, but also in visual quality.
